TopicForge

Privacy

October 2026

The program

TopicForge is a local program. It runs on your machine and reads the ROS 2 graph, DDS discovery data and bag files there. It never sends that data anywhere.

No account, no sign-up, no cookies, no analytics on the tool itself.

Telemetry

Telemetry is off by default and opt-in. To turn it on, set TOPICFORGE_TELEMETRY=on.

When it is on, each tool call produces an event with six fields:

  • tool_name
  • latency_ms
  • mode
  • version
  • session_id random per process
  • success

Never included

  • topic names
  • message types or payloads
  • bag paths or contents
  • hostnames
  • usernames
  • IP addresses
  • environment variables
  • error messages

Today the event is only written to the local log. There is no network endpoint.

The Claude plugin

The Claude plugin does not enable telemetry.

Claude itself

What Claude, the AI client, does with tool results is governed by your Claude settings and Anthropic's privacy policy, not by TopicForge.
